Train delays!!!

It was 9.30 PM on Wednesday night... I reached the Chennai Central Railway station to board the train 2621 - Tamil Nadu Express to New Delhi... The scheduled departure was at 10 PM... Then there was an announcement - "Your kind attention please... Train Number 2621 Tamil Nadu Express going to New Delhi has been delayed for 4 hours... The train will now leave Chennai Central at 02:00 AM... This delay is due to operational reasons and Indian Railways deeply regret the inconvenience caused"
My first reaction was WTF!!!! But since I had no other option, I decided to wait at the railway station only... To keep myself occupied, I got the book "Karl Aaj aur Kal" by the funniest man in India - Cyrus Broacha... I started reading the book and in sometime there was another announcement "Your kind attention please... Train number 2621 Tamil Nadu Express will be leaving Chennai Central from platform Number 4 at 02:00 AM"... Then there was a rush... A rush to get into the train and occupy the seats... What I don't understand is why do we people do this???? When we all have confirmed tickets, but still rush into the compartments as if someone else would take our seats??? We all believe in the fact that If-I-board-the-train-first-I-will-reach-the-destination-first!!! A similar scene is at the cinema halls also... Anyways, we all need to grow up and be more organized in such matters...
Moving on, as if the delay was not enough, I had to deal with lot more problems as soon as I boarded the train... I had the side lower seat, and to punish me more, god sent a family, a joint family with 3 couples and 6 children (strict followers of Hum 2 Hamare 2) in the compartment next to mine... In all they were 12 of them in 6 berths!!! God, I had decided to cancel my trip at that very instant... But some maturity prevailed and I told myself "Aal izz well" and stuck on... The train started and I fell asleep... The next morning I woke up to 2 of the kids sitting on my berth and fidgeting with my bag... I freaked out and told them to mind their own work...
Rest of the day was good... I spent it in reading the funny book and chatting with another guy who had the upper berth… We were discussing about our work, he worked for an IT company too J… We reached Nagpur by 6:30 in the evening… Had some amazing food from a ‘thela’ and went back to my book… And the train was still running 4 hours late… Slept at about 11 pm and woke up by 8.30 next morning… The train was at a station… I was shocked to see that the station was Jhansi… Usually Tamil Nadu Express takes around 10 hrs from Nagpur to Jhansi… So I did my math and found that another 4 hrs delay had been induced… So in all, the train was now running late by 8 hrs…
Having nothing else to do (I completed the book the previous day itself), I started listening to music, surf the web (GPRS) and as usual, chatting with people… And even the family next to me was so dirty, had no sense of cleanliness only… They littered the place so badly… Spilling food, water, ice creams, etc everywhere and making a complete mess of the place…
The train reached Agra sometime by noon and I thought, only 3 hrs more and I will be in the city I love the most (but not more than Chennai!!!)… From Agra to Delhi, the train took 6 hrs and 30 mins… I was so bored, as my companion got down at Agra… I slept for sometime, took frequent walks to the pantry for water, bread omelet, chips, etc… And from when did railways ban sale of cup noodles in the pantry and railway stations??? I cursed Mr Lalu Prasad Yadav for doing such a thing…
Finally 6.45 PM reached New Delhi station, train late by almost 12 hrs, to be welcomed by amazing climate and fog… It just washed away the agony, pain and co-passenger-torture that I went thru for the last so many hours and geared up for my onward journey… More about it in my next blog…

My First

Hey Guys... After a lot of reading and pondering over, I have decided that I should also start with this blogging business... I am not a good poet nor an excellent 'writer', so dont expect very good language from me... I will keep my blog simple and yet easy to understand... I dont exactly know what made me do this, but yes, I feel that this is a wonderful medium by which I can share my experiences with my friends and this will also serve as a tool with which I can look back on my own life and cherish all the moments, good, bad, and even the ugly ones forever... And one more reason is I needed something to keep me occupied during my vella time at office... Also, I would be using this as a channel to seek advise from people on various situations in my life...
All of us learn a lot of things from our day to day lives... Each action we do, every step that we take has some effect on our life... I am not endorsing Newtons III law, but am putting this forward as a matter of fact... So guys, please comment on my blogs and give me areas of improvement so that I can evolve as a better person in life...
